I wanted to write and thank you for the wonderful experience of your Media Makeup Artist classes. I learned more and received a far better portfolio than I ever hoped for.

I just wanted to let you know while I was recovering from an injury for over seven months, I had the opportunity to research and compare all of the different Makeup Artist Schools. I made a spread sheet of all the schools that I could find from New York, Florida, California and everything in between. My spread sheet confirmed the information that became very apparent while training at your studio. I learned more, received more experience and when I was finished I felt more confident than I ever dreamed I would. On the way home I knew I had all the training, experience and confidence to start a very successful business as a Media Makeup Artist.

No words can thank you enough for your wonderful training, time, expertise and care about my education and giving me the keys to become successful. I am pleased to say I have already done several fashion shoots even though I only returned home from school approximately three weeks ago and will be doing a large fashion shoot with a well known actor in a few weeks. The networking and training I received to hit the ground running was far more than I could have imagined. I am already getting more calls and requests for my portfolio and makeup test shoots (a new TV show and a Movie) than I thought possible. Thank you so very much for teaching me and continuing to help and care about my training. You have made it possible for my dreams to become a reality.

I am so thrilled that I graduated from Award Studio. I have always had a passion for make-up artistry and have attended classes and workshops in the past, but nothing compares to my experience at Award Studio. I was intrigued by the "one-week" format that this school offers and wanted to know more information. I called and spoke with the school director, Amy Ward, and asked her a few questions about the school. After speaking with Amy, I knew that this was the place to be! I am writing this letter to you because I feel that I owe you a great deal of thanks and appreciation for all of your dedication and motivation. I had been looking into makeup schools for about five years while in college. I immediately became intrigued with your one week course, but still decided to do some more research. I then came to the conclusion that my desire for media makeup and the variety of experience you have made this the perfect course for me. Coming to your pre-class introduction I was able to discuss all the questions and concerns I had, which confirmed even more that I wanted to attend your school. Your personality is so warm and I felt our class became more like a family than just a class, because of how you made us feel. The training & tools that I received at Award Studio has propelled me in the direction of becoming a very successful makeup artist. Inside information from a professional photographer, model & makeup artist is priceless. Within this one week corriculum Amy combines application & theory along with real photo shoots that creates a simulation of what it will be like working in the industry.
I left Award Studio with so much more than i could have ever expected. Everyone is so impressed with my portfolio & I am so proud & excited to show it every single chance I get! To do this on my own, i can't even imagine how much money, time & effort it would have taken to hire models & a professional photographer, plus rent a studio & professional equipment, not to mention purchasing all the makeup products & tools Amy provides in our beautiful makeup kits.

I wasn't really sure what to expect when I signed up for your class and the moment I walked into your beautiful studio I knew something exciting was about to happen. It was such a pleasure and an honor to meet you and learn from you. I found it very generous of you to share your expertise and skills that took years to collect with your students. I have been interested in makeup artistry since junior high school and absolutely fell in love with the idea around my 20th birthday. I started working at a makeup counter but felt I couldn't get the experience and skills I needed to branch out to bigger and better things. I needed instruction and I found the best at Award Studio. I had researched other lengthy schools in the LA area and was intrigued by the one week course Amy offered. As soon as I walked into Amy's studio, I felt confidence beaming out of the other artists at work, which I didn't notice at other schools. Amy's photography is stunning, which I also didn't see at other schools. With Amy's experience and knowledge, I was able to build a portfolio that has helped me to become a successful artist. I had my doubts about how it was possible to learn so much in such a short period of time. But having gone through the course, I understand how Amy does it. It's a combination of her years of experience in front and behind the camera that culminate into that one week class. She knows what the photographer is looking for and she knows what we as the make up artists need to do to make it happen. Plus - the class sizes are small and it's easy to call out, "Amy!" when you think you're not sure or you've messed up.

Amy is a sweetheart - so creative, so approachable and so knowledgeable. She has an amazing energy about her - the entire class was swept up in her whirlwind of enthusiasm. She loves what she does and it was immediately infused upon us. Amy embraces your creativity and nurtures it and lets it shine. I wish more teachers, instructors and professors could be like her. She KNOWS how to teach. I've never felt more confident leaving a class into the real world - and I've been to too many classes thus far.
